1. Spaza Books
Spaza Books is an app for small businesses: a lead page and enquiries, invoices and credit notes, and expense and trip records. It is provided by Gundwa DX (Pty) Ltd, South Africa ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy notice.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and use Spaza Books for your business.
- Give true details, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account.
3. Free trial and the pilot
New accounts get a 30-day free trial with every feature. Businesses invited to the pilot get the same 30 days, and we may ask for their feedback. During the pilot, features may change, and we may ask for your feedback. When a trial or pilot ends, your records stay safe and you can still view, print and export them, but you need a plan to add new ones.
4. Plans and payment
- Monthly: R149 a month. Paid by card, it renews automatically each month until you cancel. Paid by EFT or Capitec Pay, you pay again each month; we remind you before it's due.
- Yearly: R1,639 for 12 months (one month free). Paid by card, it then continues month to month at R149 unless you switch it off. We'll remind you 40 to 80 business days before the year ends, as the Consumer Protection Act requires. You can cancel a Yearly plan within 14 days of paying for a full refund.
- If you choose a plan during your free trial, the paid period starts when the trial ends.
- You can cancel any time under Admin: no further charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Payments are processed by Paystack. Gundwa DX is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to these prices. Reply to any payment email if you need an invoice.
- If a payment fails, we'll try again for a few days and let you know. If it isn't paid, your records go read-only until it is.
5. Your information and your customers' information
- Your records are yours. You can export them, and delete your account and its information at any time.
- For your customers' details (enquiries from your lead page and the clients on your invoices), you are the responsible party under POPIA and we are your operator. You must only use these details for lawful purposes, such as replying to an enquiry or invoicing work you did.
- As your operator, we process your customers' details only to provide Spaza Books for you, keep them confidential and secure, don't use them for anything else, and tell you without delay if they are ever compromised.
6. Your lead page
What you publish on your lead page is public. Don't publish anything false, misleading, unlawful or that you don't have the right to use (for example someone else's logo). We may unpublish a page that breaks these rules.
7. Invoices and tax
Spaza Books helps you number invoices, record payments and show VAT, but you're responsible for what's on your invoices and for your own tax affairs. Spaza Books is a tool, not tax or accounting advice: check with your accountant if you're unsure.
8. Keeping it running
We work hard to keep Spaza Books available and your information safe, and we back it up every day. We can't promise it will never be interrupted, so keep your own exports of important records. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses (such as lost profit), and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
9. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time (Admin, "Delete my account"). We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud, spam or anything unlawful, or that puts other users at risk, and will tell you why.
10. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll email you before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by South African law. Questions: hello@gundwadx.co.za.
